PHOTODERM® PL

PhotoDerm® PL is a non-invasive medical system which uses light therapy to eliminate age spots, sun spots, freckles, birthmarks and other skin discolorations. PhotoDerm's advanced technology eliminates these marks without surgery, dermabrasion or other uncomfortable procedures. The PhotoDerm® PL patented technology allows us to customize the treatment specifically for your skin type and procedure. PhotoDerm® PL generates intense pulsed light which safely reduces melanin, the dark pigment in the skin - allowing pigmented lesions to fade and slowly disappear. Many types of pigmentation may clear after one or two treatments. Most people, including children, may be treated with PhotoDerm® PL.

PHOTODERM® VL

The PhotoDerm® VL system uses light therapy to treat rosacea, spider veins, broken capillaries, port-wine stains and many birthmarks safely and effectively - without injections or incisions. PhotoDerm® VL generates intense pulsed light, safely eliminating underlying blood vessels, making them fade and slowly disappear. Our patients find that areas often diminish after one or two treatments, depending on the type of blemish. In many cases, two to five sessions are needed for the best results. You'll enjoy a quick recovery and no activity restrictions from this in-office procedure. Most people, including children, may be treated with PhotoDerm® VL.

PhotoDerm® VL can eliminate or lessen the appearance of these types of vascular lesions:

• Port Wine Stains
• Rosacea
• Scars
• Spider Veins
• Stretch Marks

Leg Vein Treatment

• PhotoDerm® VL
• Vasculight
• Sclerotherapy

Whether they're caused by heredity, pregnancy, obesity, age, or prolonged standing, leg veins affect nearly 60 percent of American adults. Our treatments can effectively reduce spider veins, alleviate pain and discomfort - and improve your appearance. In most cases, two to five sessions are needed for optimum results. Larger veins usually need additional treatment such as sclerotherapy, using a concentrated salt-water solution to treat varicose veins. This is performed right in our office and there are minimal activity restrictions after the procedure.

Dr. Schlessinger is one of the nation's foremost experts in the use of laser technology to treat problem leg veins, and Skin Specialists was the first practice in Nebraska to offer PhotoDerm® VL and Vasculight.
